At New Directions, we have a dedicated support team. The team of support workers are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those they support. They are also supported by Manager, Yetunde Esan, and the team at the office who ensure everything is coordinated well, refresher training is completed and the service is running well and to a high quality.
I am seen as someone who is positive, enthusiastic, energetic, confident and always optimistic (and a bit of a workaholic!).
I’m passionate about developing person centred approaches for the people I work with. I came into the learning disability sector because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I have many years’ experience, joining the Health and Social Care sector 11 years ago. I take an active part in my community, including voluntary work which currently involves being a Parish Safeguarding officer at my local church. I have also been a Parent Governor for a School for six years and was invited to meet with Earl of Sussex in 2012.
I enjoy managing teams to deliver improvements in services that make a difference in people’s lives. I do this by working alongside and consulting with the people we support and those who are significant in their lives.
I am keen in the personal development of my staff and perform the role of a coach and mentor. I have been running a Maintaining Professional Boundaries workshop for the past 4 years and have delivered this training to staff from the Health and Social Care Field across London and Essex.
With my team, I aim to deliver the very best in Mental Health and Disability support in our community.
